Review: FF:AC

Wow. Thats all I've got to say. Just... wow. I'd say the wait was well worth it. I had my doubts about a sequel to what, I would say, is my favorite game. But, I am truly satisfied with the results. Square-Enix did an incredible job with this movie. It has everything a fan could ask for; amazing visuals, an abundance of over-the-top action sequences, swords, sword-gun combinations, and a solid (albeit, a little short) storyline.

In spite of my apparant fanboyism, I'll be the first to say its far from perfect. The story, compared to its videogame counterpart, is decent, but nowhere near as engaging as the original. Speaking of which, anyone who hasnt played the game will probably be a bit confused. Hell, Im still not completely sure what was going on. But then again, that was part of what made the game so fascinating. The storyline unfolded in ways that werent completely obvious to the observer. There were always new things to notice each time it was played through. Now Im getting off topic.... Most of the movie revolves around Cloud and Tifa. The other characters pretty much just made cameo appearances, which is a bit disappointing. It would have been nice if they had bigger parts, but I guess in the transition from a 40hr game to a 1.5 hour movie, some things are lost along the way.

Okay, so in summation.... If you are a fan, you will probably like this. If not, go play the game. Then you'd probably want to watch it. Go now!

Edit: Haha. Now that I have a chance to read over this post again, it sounds like something taken right from ign. I should probably try to fix that.

The nerdery continues

So the long wait is finally over. Tommorow is the release of the much anticipated (for me at least) CGI movie; Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Now the nerdery can continue. And yes, nerdery is a word. Although Im not sure I spelled it right. I havent written anything in so long Im starting to forget how to spell. Considering the exam Im taking is this weekend, this is not a good sign. I need to teach myself how to write in "properspeak" (as I call it) again. The internet and FFXI have done a number on my 'skills of a writer' (Anyone get the reference? No? Damn. I really am a nerd). No more AIMspeak for me. Personally, I could do without lol's, brb's, 4's, and those retarded ur's. Seriously kids, Learn how to fucking spell! And dont g3t m3 s74r7ed 0n 7hi5 5hi7. If you are confused see this example:

And dont bother asking me why I know what that means. Id like to think Im clever enough to figure it out. Anyway, back to what I was rambling about. So the deal is, I have to get a certain score to pass, otherwise I will have to take 1 or 2 classes to make up for it depending on how low my score is. Not that I don't need the units, Id just rather take more classes that have to do with my major. Which I will be changing again soon. Hopefully for the last time. At least in about a month or so, I will be that much closer to getting out of here.

The Normal Life

So what have I been up to? Same old, Same old. I still work at the resteraunt. Yeah, Datillos. I found two cool sites. I have to mention them to you Waiter Rant and Buon Appetito. Two great sites that give you an idea of the stuff I deal with on a daily basis. Other than dealing with stuff like that, I'm cool. I'm happy because, both Danny and Erin will be in town this summer. It's great news for me.

I really can't wait for Erin to get here though. She's coming on a internship through her school, so she'll be unavailable alot, but it's worth it just because I'll get to see her. She's a great friend. Having a friend like that live across the country is hard. I have to admit, we don't talk like we used too, She's usually pretty busy. Hopefully that will change this summer. I'm looking foward to it.

Do you want to know what I dont understand? Why is it that something as simple as taking a written exam can cost $35? I understand it costs money to administer a test like this, but is it really necessary to charge $35 for a test that all students have to take at some point in their college career? I guess Im just bitter because of the money that just fell out of my pocket. Oh yeah. Not to mention the fact that I havent taken a writing course in about three semesters. Hopefully, if I start posting more things here, I will be able to remember how to write a paragraph that doesnt jump around so much.

Maybe I should write a review like Mike did earlier with G.R.A.W. Im sure everyone would be dying to read something like that. I think Im about half way through Kingdom Hearts II. I'd like to finish it first, but I dont think I will have time for that. Perhaps I should just use an older game. One I've already played through and know well. I'll pick one later since its time for me to go to work.

"May you walk always in the Shadow of Sithis"

I would be posting more often, and working on the other site way more often if it wasn't for Oblivion.

I can't help it, between Work and not being home, when I get home all I want to do is play the damn thing. It's such a great game. It's insane. I'll probably drop it once I finish the Main and Dark Brotherhood questlines. The Dark Brotherhood is by far the coolest. I wish I had a PC so I could take a screenshot of my character, but I don't, so I'm gonna use brads. I would look the same if I took it, except for the shield.

Yeah. That's it for today. I'm currently cleaning the room. Which explains this post.
